Membership of Committees

In addition to the Full Board, there are a number of sub-committees which meet on a regular basis throughout the academic year. These are currently:-

• Audit
• Finance and General Purposes
• Curriculum and Learning
• Remuneration
• Search.

Additionally, the Corporation may set up ad hoc committees. For example, an Appointments Panel would need to be set up to appoint a senior postholder. The above sub-committees may, by agreement of the Full Board, enlist individuals to provide additional expertise when necessary. Currently, the Audit and Search sub-committees are supported in this way.

The Chair of Governors is Richard Bate. The Vice Chair is Professor Helen Higson.

Audit Committee members are Andy McHale (Chair), Graeme Birch, Cllr. Sue Anderson, Robina Nawaz and David Jones.

Finance and General Purposes members are Richard Bate (Chair), Professor Helen Higson, Phil Leyland, Thelma Probert, Mohammed Saqub and Elly Tobin (Principal).

Curriculum and Learning Committee members are Richard Bate (Chair), Thelma Probert, Wendy Sharples, Tyrone Philgence (Staff Governor) and Elly Tobin (Principal).

Remuneration Committee members are Richard Bate (Chair), Cllr. Sue Anderson and Phil Leyland.

Search Committee members are Richard Bate (Chair), Cllr.Sue Anderson, Phil Leyland, Elly Tobin (Principal) and Habib Rahman (co-opted member).
