College for International Citizenship

In collaboration with Joseph Chamberlain College, Birmingham City Council, the University of Birmingham and Aston University, the College for International Citizenship (CIC) brings together a course of study in Citizenship for local, national and international students.

The CIC gives students the opportunity to explore current research about issues related to international citizenship, peace and justice and international trade. Students leave the CIC having gained a clearer understanding of the international issues that affect global society.

4-week Summer Programme

Participants can attend any number of weeks with a minimum of two weeks required.

Two of the following modules are covered in each week:

Political Systems
International Rights and Responsibilities
International Trade and Economic Systems
Education and National Development
Peace, Violence and Conflict
Citizenship
Environmental Change and Sustainability
Leadership Skills

Course Costs 2018

Students can enrol on the CIC course for between 2 and 4 weeks.

UK Students (under 18 years old):

2 weeks: £1250
4 weeks: £2100

The fee includes:

Non-UK Students (Under 18):

2 weeks: £1990
4 weeks: £3580

UK Students (Over 18):

2 weeks: £1060
4 weeks: £1720

The fee includes:
• Tuition fee
• Accommodation* (No meals included)

As well as the core course, students have the opportunity to interact with a number of Birmingham organisations and businesses during their stay.

The College for International Citizenship offers a unique international learning experience and a sound understanding of global issues as they relate to citizenship. Students will also make an international network of contacts and friends that last for beyond the course.
