What are the main features of this course?
This course introduces a variety of business concepts in a vocational context to the learner. Among the topics covered, you will study the business environment, marketing, business communication, human resources and more. All of these are delivered in a “real world” context using our links with real businesses.
The Level 2 Certificate is an AS equivalent which can be taken into the second year as a Level 3 Extended Certificate.
You will complete 4 mandatory units. These include:
Unit One – Exploring Business (Year 1)
Unit Two – Developing a Marketing Campaign (Year 1)
Unit Three – Personal and Business Finance (Year 2)
The remaining unit for Year 2 is chosen by the department.
Hours of lessons per week: 5
Indicative group size: 20
How is the course assessed?
The course is assessed through a mixture of methods such as:
Written Reports, Presentations, Recorded Audio, Individual and Group Tasks and Creation of Real Business Documents, e.g. financial documents, newsletters, leaflets, posters
Who should study this course?
No previous experience of Business is needed but you must make sure you understand what the course entails; skills in research and application of knowledge in coursework are useful.
