What are the main features of this course?

This is a practical course. Students learn by completing projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations. A Level 3 Extended Diploma is equivalent to three A-levels.

There are seven set units including:

  • The Business Environment
  • Business Resources
  • An Introduction To Marketing
  • Business Communication
  • Business Accounting

The remaining 13 units are chosen by the department and may include:

  • Ethics
  • Training
  • Human Resources
  • Health and Safety
  • Retail
  • Employment Law
  • Recruitment and Selection
Hours of lessons per week: 15
Indicative group size: 20
How is the course assessed?

Written Reports, Presentations, Recorded Audio, Individual and Group Tasks, Creation of Real Business Documents (financial documents, newsletters, leaflets, posters)

A highlight of the course was the Chamber of Commerce trip. I enjoyed speaking to local businesses about the opportunities available to students.
