English Language GCSE is a part-time course undertaken over one academic year (September to June). This course covers reading and understanding fiction and non-fiction texts, writing for a range of audiences and purposes, spelling, punctuation and grammar.

This course is best suited to adult learners who are fluent English speakers but do not have a GCSE (formerly known as O Level or CSE) in this subject, as it gives the opportunity to those looking to gain a formal qualification to do so. If your language skills are not yet at GCSE level, you will need to first study our courses in either English for Speakers of Other Languages or English Level 1 and 2.

This course is for adult learners; if you are a school leaver looking for one of our 16-19 courses, please click here.
