We hope you’ve all been staying safe and keeping well over the last couple of months.
We’ve been making the most of an empty college by taking the chance to renovate!
When you come back in September, the old canteen will have transformed. The new area will be twice the size, featuring a coffee shop, a sandwich bar and a pizza counter. There will be far more seating stretching out onto the Crescent garden. It’ll be a great spot to relax!
Social Street is new, fresh, bright and bold. That’s why we’ve brought in a renowned Birmingham based graffiti artist – Gent 48.
After graduating from the Birmingham Institute for Art & Design, he became known for his distinctly quirky characters which have been appearing all around Digbeth since 2008. Over the last 10 years he’s been involved in global projects ranging as far as Australia. You might recognise his murals across Birmingham, especially his recent Key Workers piece, ‘Forward in Unity’.
We’ve seen some initial designs and we are very excited to see how he transforms Social Street.

Follow the progress here, and on our socials. We’ll be posting photos and videos of the new area coming to life, and of Gent 48’s work.
We can’t wait to welcome you to Social Street in September!
