Finding your first job in teaching involves a number of stages. You will need to decide the area and the sector you want to teach (post-16 or secondary), apply and perform successfully at the interview stage.
But getting your first teaching job doesn’t have to be stressful if you are well-prepared and plan ahead. This free guidance session for trainee teachers will help you to do just that including job hunting, writing applications and interview preparation.
The session is facilitated by Damian Brant, Assistant Principal at Joseph Chamberlain College. Damian has worked in education for many years and has been involved in both teaching and recruiting trainee teachers. He currently leads the College’s development programme for newly qualified teachers (NQTs) and trainee teachers and is chair of Birmingham City University’s Post-Compulsory Education and Training Partnership Committee.
