Over the last two years, Joseph Chamberlain College (JCC) has refurbished and developed its campus to provide outstanding facilities for an increasing student population. Now it is offering 1,300 new places for students to study from next September.
The college offers AS and A Levels in 35 subjects and a wide range of BTEC courses. Last year’s A Level results showed a 100% pass rate, and a BTEC Level 3 pass rate of 100%. That keeps the pass rate exceptional for the seventh year in a row.
JCC students have started incredible journeys during their time in further education. Over 90% of all university applicants got their desired places last year, including six students who went on to study medicine.
Excellent teaching and support for students
This success is due to the excellent teaching and support on offer to get students going in the right direction.
Many students also get involved in the Student Council, clubs, societies and other enrichment activities such as The Duke of Edinburgh Award and work experience.
The College has very close links with universities and schemes, such as the Aston Medical School programme. These connections help students progress to outstanding careers.
Discover the refurbished modern campus
The campus itself has recently undergone some dramatic changes.
Social Street boasts a 400-seat capacity with four food areas: a pizza restaurant, a sandwich bar, a coffee shop, and a hot food restaurant serving a themed menu each day. All of this is beautifully furnished with neon lights, booths, sofas, and incredible murals by local graffiti artist, Gent48.
There are 13 additional study areas across campus with 600 brand new computers and super-fast Wi-Fi throughout. The Open Learning Centre has been transformed into a light and focussed zone for quiet study and access to computers throughout the day.
Attend a virtual or in-person open event
Joseph Chamberlain College will be hosting a series of face to face and virtual open events, starting with Open Days on Saturday, October 16 and Saturday, November 13, both will run from 10am to 2pm.
The principal, Tony Day, said: “We hope that this event will provide an inspirational insight into all that JCC has to offer. Future students will see our amazing facilities and be able to find out everything they need in relation to the courses on offer. You will be able to meet our key support areas and ask all of the questions that will help you to make the best choice for your future”.
