Tony Day Appointed Principal Of JCC

As we enter the new year and a new term at JCC, we are delighted to announce that Tony Day has been appointed as the new Principal of Joseph Chamberlain College. With a wealth of experience as our previous Deputy Principal under his belt, Tony is well equipped to take on the role and we are excited to see how the College evolves under his leadership.

A message from our new Principal

“I would like to welcome you to our website and thank you for your interest in Joseph Chamberlain College. Situated just ten minutes from Birmingham City Centre, we are a highly successful Sixth Form College with a local and national reputation for excellence. We offer a wide range of A-level and BTEC courses for school leavers in our award-winning main building and a range of programmes for adults and HE students on a separate campus.

We are the only college in Birmingham and Solihull to be rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and the achievement of our students is amongst the highest in the country. This is because our teachers are all highly skilled professionals and are experts in what they do; their focus is firmly on making sure that all of our students achieve exceptional examination and vocational results.

We are a highly inclusive and vibrant college, proud of the diversity that exists amongst our staff and students. Those who visit the College often comment on the friendly, welcoming and positive atmosphere they experience during their time here. I believe that this comes from our strong sense of community, which is characterised by warm and highly respectful relationships between staff, students and their peers. Joseph Chamberlain College is a place where you will be expected to work hard but where you will also be given plenty of opportunities to develop new skills, make new friends and become involved in a range of extra-curricular activities.

If you are looking to join us as a school leaver, we will offer you an outstanding sixth form experience, helping you to successfully make the transition between school and higher education or employment. We will do this by treating you as an adult and working with you to take ownership of your learning and plan your future. If you are joining us as an adult learner, we will give you all the support and guidance you need to reach your future goals. Whatever your background or starting point, we will treat you as an individual; we will be ambitious for you, broaden your horizons and do everything we can to help you reach your full potential. That is my promise to you as Principal.

Whether you are a prospective student or member of staff, a parent, a member of the public or already a member of our college community, I hope you find the information you are looking for on this website. Should you not, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.”

With my very best wishes,

Tony Day
