Please see below the entry requirements for our AS/A-Level, Level 3 BTEC/T-Level, and Level 2 pathways. These criteria will help you understand which pathway is the best fit for you and your future goals.
To join our AS/A-Level pathway, you will need to meet the following entry requirements:
- A minimum of 6 grade 4s, including a grade 4 or above in GCSE English Language, is required.
- GCSE Maths must also be at grade 3 as a minimum. If GCSE Maths is at a grade 3, you would have to resit it.
- One grade 4 can be replaced with a ‘merit’ in one Level 2 BTEC subject only.
In addition to the above, some subjects have specific entry criteria, such as AS-Level Mathematics requiring a grade 6 in GCSE Maths. To find out the specific requirements for each subject, please consult that course’s website page.

To join our Level 3 BTEC/T-Level Pathway, you will need to meet the following entry requirements:
- A minimum of 5 grade 4s, including a grade 4 or above in GCSE English Language, is required.
- GCSE Maths must also be at grade 3 as a minimum.* If GCSE Maths is at a grade 3, you would have to re-sit it.
- If GCSE English Language is at a grade 3 (but GCSE English Literature is at a grade 4), you would have to re-sit it.
- A ‘merit’ in a BTEC at Level 2 can count as one of the grade 4s in up to two instances.
* Please note: A 4 in Maths is required for the following subjects:
- BTEC Level 3 Business
- BTEC Level 3 Applied Science
- T-Level Level 3 Education and Early Years

To join our Level 2 BTEC Pathway, you will need to meet the following entry requirements:
- A minimum of 5 grade 3s, including a grade 3 or above in GCSE English Language, is required.
- GCSE Maths must also be at grade 2 as a minimum.* If GCSE Maths is at a grade 2, you would be enrolled on Pre-GCSE Maths. If GCSE Maths is at a grade 3, you would have to resit GCSE Maths.
- If English Language is at a grade 3, you would have to resit GCSE English Language.
- A ‘pass’ in a BTEC at Level 2 can count as one of the Grade 3s in up to two instances.
* Please note: A 3 in Maths is required for the following subjects:
- BTEC Level 2 Business
- BTEC Level 2 Applied Science

You do not need to have made your final subject choices when you apply. Your subjects can be reviewed and amended at your interview, and again on Enrolment Day. We strongly encourage you to apply early, even if you are still deciding, as this helps to secure your place. Please note that all offers are conditional upon achieving the required GCSE grades.
