Joseph Chamberlain College has started 2024 with the release of its Ofsted report. To read the full Ofsted report, please click here. The college is incredibly proud that, for the second time in six years, it has been awarded Ofsted’s highest grade of “Outstanding” in ALL categories yet again in 2024. The college was last inspected in 2017, and since then, Ofsted has adopted a more challenging framework, which has resulted in a smaller number of schools and colleges being awarded the highest grades. It is a great achievement to retain “Outstanding” in such challenging circumstances, of which staff and students alike are justifiably proud. The report also details that students at Joseph Chamberlain College possess “highly positive attitudes and commitment to their education” and are capable of making “substantial and sustained progress from their starting points” to achieve top results. If you would like to receive outstanding support in achieving top results, you can apply to the college by clicking here.

Joseph Chamberlain College has also hosted a wide array of exceptional events this term, such as the variety of school visits that have taken place, January Open Tours and the Apply Now Workshops.

So far this year, the college’s staff members have visited Hall Green Secondary School, Saltley Academy, Small Heath Leadership Academy, Hodge Hill Girls’ School, Ark Boulton Academy, Heartlands Academy, Kings Heath Boys, and Yardleys School to conduct college interviews for students who have already applied. The college would like to congratulate all of the outstanding students who have earned conditional places; the staff have commented on the exceptional ways these students have conducted themselves in their interviews, and they are thoroughly looking forward to teaching them in September.

Staff members have also visited a mixture of schools this year for assemblies, careers fairs, parents’ evenings, and practice interviews. The college would like to thank all of the schools who have invited their staff to speak to their students and assist them further.

The recent January Open Tours saw many prospective students entering the college, with all available places being filled days before the event. The tour began with a presentation, giving information about the college and discussing the plan for the day. After the presentation, all attendees were given a guided tour, traversing the building and all of its exceptional facilities while being able to ask any questions along the way. Once the tour concluded, many visiting students joined the Apply Now Workshop. This workshop gave them a chance to apply directly from the college with a member of staff present to guide and support; their interview was conducted after this, completing the application process in one sitting. Joseph Chamberlain College was pleased to welcome so many prospective students, as well as their parents/guardians, into the college and is grateful for the positive feedback on the event.

The college is hosting another set of Open Tours on Saturday 24th February and Saturday 9th March. This is an invaluable opportunity to have a guided tour of the college, apply with a member of staff’s support, and have your interview, all on the same day.

If you would like to register for Saturday 9th March 2024, please click here.

The staff at Joseph Chamberlain College are looking forward to welcoming those who have been successful in their interviews so far into college for our New Students’ Day in July.
