JCC Celebrates Excellence at Student of the Year Awards 2024
Joseph Chamberlain College recently hosted its prestigious Student of the Year Awards 2024, an evening filled with celebration and exceptional achievements. The college had much to commemorate, having attained an ‘Outstanding’ rating in every category from Ofsted in 2024 for the second consecutive time. This unique and remarkable recognition set the stage for an evening dedicated to honouring the exceptional talents and hard work of the college’s students.
As well as the incredible students receiving their awards, a series of captivating performances were weaved into the evening. Notably, Cat Delphi, alongside dancers from The Performers College in Birmingham, delivered an incredible piano and singing performance, creating a phenomenal opening to a special evening. Adding to the evening’s excitement were the Dhol Players (courtesy of Birmingham Crew DJs and Events), whose powerful performance injected a burst of energy into the night.
A particular highlight of the evening was the return of one of the college’s distinguished alumna, Kripa Masrikibria, who revisited the college to lend her spectacular vocal talents to this year’s awards. Her performance was a testament to the lasting impact that Joseph Chamberlain College has on its students.
The event also featured an inspiring talk by Dr Lynne Morris CBE, who served as the principal of Joseph Chamberlain College from 1997 to 2008. Dr Morris inspired the audience with an incredible talk and reminisced about the college’s journey under her leadership, highlighting its first-ever grade 1 Ofsted rating and the prestigious Queen’s Anniversary Prize for exceptional contribution to Further and Higher Education. Her words resonated deeply with the students, emphasizing the importance of perseverance, dedication, and the pursuit of excellence.
Joseph Chamberlain College thanks everyone who joined them for the evening in celebration of the outstanding achievements of the students and the college’s unwavering dedication to providing ‘An Exceptional Education for All’.
