Joseph Chamberlain College: Celebrating an Outstanding 2024
2024 has been an outstanding year at Joseph Chamberlain College, marked by incredible achievements and exciting events.
A standout achievement for the college in 2024 was its second consecutive ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating. For the second time in six years, Ofsted has awarded the grade of ‘Outstanding’ in every category to Joseph Chamberlain College, recognising its commitment to, and success in, achieving the college’s mission of: “An Exceptional Education for All.”
As one student, Shanza Safdar, put it: “My experience at JCC was amazing. I had great, supportive teachers and the social aspect was fulfilling. I was surrounded by people encouraging me to do my best.”
The college is exceedingly pleased that its latest set of exam results reflected this distinctive achievement from Ofsted: 99% A-level pass rate, with 53% A* – B grades and 84% A* – C at A-level, and 87% distinction grades at BTEC Level 3 (full-time diplomas).
After receiving their results, some remarkable students commented on their experience at Joseph Chamberlain College. For example, Muaz Ahmed, the Highest Achiever in the college for 2024 with A*, A*, A* in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, said:
“It was highly enjoyable, as all the staff were kind, the teachers taught the content well, and I had all the support I needed to succeed.”
Firdaus Amatulla, who achieved A, A, A, A, commented:
“Attending college at JCC was a transformative experience, both academically and socially. Academically, I was challenged like never before, with my teachers providing a lot of support, and I have also made incredible, long-lasting friends throughout my time here. I am proud to have been a student at JCC.”
Another exciting development in 2024 was the opening of JCC’s new building, which is now home to the Business department. The modern, well-designed space contains sleek study areas, stylish classrooms, and a beautiful outdoor space. The building has been impactful, providing students with a fresh, inspiring environment to explore and learn.
As part of an ongoing, dynamic collaboration, Joshua Billingham, better known as Gent 48, an incredible graffiti artist, was once again commissioned by the college to paint the outdoor space of the new building. The partnership has previously seen his captivating work featured on flags around Birmingham, buses in the local area and in the college’s canteen, ‘Social Street’, adding a unique style to the space that continues to gain positive attention from students, staff, and visitors alike. The college and Gent 48 have recaptured this style and injected it into the new building.
Another thrilling event was October’s Open Day – a huge success, with a vast amount of prospective JCC students exploring the college, meeting teachers, sampling the facilities, and discovering everything JCC has to offer. The college is proud that 100% of Open Day attendees who filled out the Open Day Survey rated the information provided as ‘Excellent’ or ‘Good’.
If you missed the Open Day but would still like to visit and gain more information about the college, there are Open Tours taking place on Saturday 18th January and Saturday 15th February. With the recent Ofsted rating in mind, the college had much to commemorate – the unique and remarkable recognition set the stage for an evening dedicated to honouring the exceptional talents and hard work of its students. The event proved to be a great success, with exciting entertainment, delicious food, and incredible awards.
Finally, JCC was proud to announce the exceptional feedback received from its most recent Parent & Carer Survey.
