Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College to Receive EuroKnowledge Award 2025

Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College (JCC) has been named a recipient of the EuroKnowledge Award 2025, recognising its outstanding contribution to educational leadership, youth empowerment and commitment to inclusive excellence. The award celebrates JCC’s long-standing reputation for combining academic achievement with social purpose, fostering ambition, equality and a lifelong commitment to learning and community.
The EuroKnowledge Awards, held at the House of Lords, London, on Saturday 25 October 2025, brought together leaders from education, business, philanthropy and public service to recognise organisations and individuals whose work inspires positive change across the UK and beyond.
JCC continues to stand out as one of the country’s most respected and forward-thinking sixth form colleges. With a focus on both academic and personal development, JCC prepares students for university, apprenticeships and professional careers while fostering curiosity, confidence and a strong sense of social responsibility. Its inclusive environment encourages students from all backgrounds to thrive, underpinned by a belief that education can be a transformative force for equality and opportunity.
As a founding member of the Letter to Nelson Mandela Competition, JCC plays a leading role in promoting global awareness and civic engagement among young people. The initiative encourages students to reflect on justice, leadership and humanity, which are values central to JCC’s ethos. Through mentoring, enrichment and leadership programmes, JCC inspires learners to think critically about their place in the world and to contribute positively to their communities.
Speaking after the event, Jo Lawrence, Vice Principal at JCC, said she was proud to attend alongside colleagues Trina Tiernan, Work Related Learning and Employability Manager, and Chantelle Nevin, Head of Sociology:
“It was a real privilege to represent JCC at the House of Lords and to see our work recognised on a national stage. The award is a reflection of the dedication of our staff and the enthusiasm of our students, who bring so much energy, creativity and commitment to everything they do.
At JCC, we believe education should open minds and build confidence, but also nurture a sense of responsibility to others. This recognition highlights the importance of creating an environment where every learner feels valued, supported and inspired to achieve their best.
Sharing this moment with colleagues like Trina and Chantelle made it even more special. It is a reminder of what can be achieved when we work together with a shared purpose and a belief in the power of education to change lives.”

Other 2025 EuroKnowledge honourees include Olympic legend Fatima Whitbread MBE, Deshabandu Lynn Stanier MBE, Louis Saha and the Mukul Madhav Foundation, alongside other distinguished leaders recognised for their contributions to education, philanthropy and community impact.
