First of all, a huge congratulations for gaining a conditional place with us at JCC and for your performance in your interview – give yourself a round of applause!
Your first step is Welcome Day, which will either be on Tuesday 30th June or Wednesday 1st July – this is an incredible day where you will be given multiple exciting opportunities, such as being able to explore our college’s outstanding facilities, engage with your future teachers, collect your exciting Summer Preparation Booklets (which will also be available below after the day), learn about our broad range of JCC Extra Enrichment opportunities, ask any burning questions, sample our delicious food, and overall, experience life as a JCC student.
We can’t wait to see you and hope you enjoy everything we have to offer – enjoy your day!
We know it is a huge thing to transition from school to college, so we want to make it smooth and simple for you and ensure you’re fully prepared – to do this, we need to know about you. We will ask in the future that you please submit a photo for your ID card and complete an online form to confirm personal details/emergency contacts. You can do this by clicking the button at the bottom of this step’s box when it is live in the future. We will also send an email containing the same link. Keep your eyes peeled!
If you run into any problems or have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to email us at MAnders@jcc.ac.uk – we are here to help, every step of the way!
Once this has been completed, you will soon receive a letter containing the details of your personalised appointment in August to confirm your enrolment after your GCSE results (best of luck!) – more details on that in Step 3 below.
You will either confirm your enrolment at JCC on Thursday 21st August or Friday 22nd August – you will receive a letter in the future containing all of the details for your personalised enrolment appointment. If your appointment is on GCSE Results Day, don’t worry – you will be called in later in the morning to allow plenty of time for you to collect your results!
On this day, we will confirm your ID, check your grades, complete your enrolment, and discuss your subject choices/make any changes. We understand just how important your subject choices are for your future, so we will work with you on the day and provide lots of support to make sure you’re on the perfect pathway for you.
We wish you the absolute best of luck with your GCSE results! Please remember to bring them with you to confirm your enrolment. If you don’t get the results that you were hoping for, don’t panic! Still attend your enrolment appointment and we will work with you to find an alternative pathway that will support your dream future.
Please remember to bring your GCSE results to confirm your enrolment!
This is the final step of your enrolment – your induction!
Your Induction Day will either be on Tuesday 25th August or Wednesday 26th August – now this is something to really look forward to!
Join us for a friendly, fun, and fulfilling welcome to the college. Collect your timetable, enjoy your first lessons, taste our fantastic food, participate in exciting activities, discover more about Enrichment clubs and societies, make new friends, find your new favourite spot to chill with them, and experience college life.
What better way to start your new life at college!

FAQs
Not to worry, please attend your personalised Enrolment Appointment with your GCSE results, and, provided you have the necessary requirements, a member of staff can swap your subjects.
We will be offering late enrolment appointments. However, we cannot guarantee that places will still be available, as we do not hold or reserve spaces. Courses you may be interested in could already be full at the time of your visit.
We strongly recommend attending your personalised enrolment appointment and avoiding booking holidays during this period, as we are unable to hold places.
Please be aware that enrolment cannot be completed over the telephone and must be done in person at college.
Please still attend your personalised Enrolment Appointment, bring your results, and we will discuss the most appropriate pathway for you. Our advice and guidance staff will also be available on the day to support you with information about course options, career pathways, and help you choose the most suitable course for your next steps.
At JCC, we offer one-to-one support for all students. One of the primary sources of support and advice will be your Personal Progress Tutors (PPT). All students are assigned a PPT who will monitor their academic progress and support them throughout their time at college.
We do not have a uniform at JCC, and students are welcome to wear whatever they feel comfortable in, including cultural or ethnic clothing. The key is to dress appropriately for a college environment.
Yes, you can.
It is essential that all students, staff, and visitors wear a lanyard while on campus. This helps us ensure that everyone on site is authorised to be here and supports the safety and security of the JCC community. Lanyards will be issued at the start of the academic year. Please note that charges may apply for replacement ID cards or lanyards that are lost, stolen, or damaged.
We are located close to Birmingham city centre and are connected to two bus routes that stop right at our door. The #50 and #8 (running clockwise and anticlockwise) provide a regular service. See the National Express West Midlands website at nxbus.co.uk for more details. We also have secure and covered bike stands for students who wish to cycle to college.
We also provide a free-to-use bus service to make travelling to JCC easier. Please keep an eye out for more information!
Please email info@jcc.ac.uk with any questions, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
