Over a Decade of Excellence: Joseph Chamberlain College Celebrates the Best Results in Its History
Over a decade of exceptional student results. Two consecutive ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted ratings in every category. And now, the strongest exam performance in the College’s history. Joseph Chamberlain College (JCC) has once again set the standard for excellence in the region, offering an ‘Exceptional Education for All’ that inspires ambition and nurtures students to achieve outstanding A-Level, BTEC, and T-Level results.
Even though JCC’s students achieved their highest results for the 10th year in a row last year despite national high grades being lower than previous years, the College has again proven to be the benchmark for educational excellence, with its 2025 student results being the best in its already remarkable history.
This reflects the potential and achievement of the student body and also the College’s resolute focus on academic excellence, personalised support, and high-quality teaching. Students across A-Level, BTEC, and T-Level pathways have achieved some truly exceptional results, with many progressing to top universities on highly competitive courses.
This year, JCC’s students achieved:
- 99% A-Level Pass Rate
- 60% A*–B Grades
- 85% A*–C Grades
- 88% BTEC Level 3 Distinction or Above (FTDs)
These achievements mirror the fact that JCC was, for the second time in a row, rated ‘Outstanding’ in every category by Ofsted at its most recent inspection. It remains the only Sixth Form College in the West Midlands to hold this distinction, truly setting it apart as a centre of educational excellence.
Principal, Tony Day, praised this year’s students for their ambition and hard work:

We are proud to see so many of our learners progressing to leading universities and exciting career pathways. This success is well deserved.”
Among this year’s spectacular students are nine successful medicine applicants. Securing a place on a medical degree is one of the most competitive and challenging paths to pursue, requiring consistently high academic achievement, success in rigorous admissions tests, and strong performance at interviews. These nine students have worked superbly hard to secure these highly sought-after places at some of the most prestigious and competitive universities across the country, an incredible accomplishment and a testament to their dedication and ambition.
Among this year’s successful medicine applicants is Mashaal Khattak, who achieved an incredible triple A* in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, and is now set to study Medicine at the University of Birmingham.
“My time at JCC has been very memorable- during the last 2 years I have felt supported and heard in every aspect possible. The excellent staff and my teachers who always believed in me have made it possible for me to make huge leaps towards my dreams.”
Zinedine Ahmed also attained an astounding triple A* in Further Mathematics, Mathematics, and Physics, and will be undertaking a degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Birmingham.
“My experience at JCC has been amazing, the teachers are very professional and have given great support throughout my 2 years at JCC. JCC has helped build me into the man I am now.”
Another incredible student, Serah Elizabeth, who achieved A, A, A, B in Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, and Mathematics, shared her passion for the college:
“The whole college is amazing. I’m an international student, and after starting, I was amazed at how much support is offered at this college. I truly felt at home at JCC.
The grades I have now are thanks to the college. The teachers pushed me through and helped me out whenever I needed it, and they supported me throughout the whole journey, and helped me out with everything, including gaining work experience that I needed to progress to university. Every student is given the opportunity to achieve.
Everything I have achieved up to now was because of JCC and I’m so very grateful that I joined this college.”
