For academic year 2027/2028 BTEC students will study the BTEC Diploma in Applied Science with an additional qualification; AAQ in Human Biology. This is a full-time program of study equivalent to 3 A ‘levels.

The program will develop students’ understanding of biology, chemistry and physics through the study of scientific principles, laboratory techniques, scientific investigation and contemporary issues in science, while building practical, analytical and research skills relevant to a wide range of scientific disciplines. Students will also explore human anatomy and physiology, health and disease, genetics, biomedical techniques, nutrition and other aspects of human biology, applying scientific knowledge to real-world medical and healthcare contexts to support progression to higher education and careers in science, healthcare and related professions.
