Another Exceptional Year of Results for Joseph Chamberlain College

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – 18th AUGUST 2026

Students at Joseph Chamberlain College are celebrating today as they receive their A-Level and Level 3 vocational results, marking the culmination of years of study and hard work.

The Class of 2026 has achieved another exceptional set of results, with 86.7% of A-Level grades awarded at A–C — the College’s highest ever — 58% awarded at A–B, and an overall A-Level pass rate of 99.7%**. Among students completing Level 3 vocational courses, 85% achieved Distinction or Distinction*.

The results build on the College’s strong record of academic success. This year, students have secured places at leading universities across the country, including Russell Group institutions such as the University of Oxford, the University of Birmingham, Durham University, the University of Manchester, the University of Sheffield and the University of Edinburgh, as well as places on highly competitive degree courses including Medicine, PPE, Law, Computer Science, Economics, Politics and International Relations, Fine Art, and Classical Archaeology and Ancient History.

Among those celebrating today is Hareem Qaisar, who achieved four A grades in Politics, Mathematics, Geographyand the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and has secured her place at the University of Oxford to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE).

Reflecting on her time at Joseph Chamberlain College and the opportunities that helped prepare her for Oxford, Hareem said:

I was always encouraged to try things. There were so many opportunities, and I just went for them.”

As she prepares for the next stage, she added:

It is a bit nerve-wracking, but I feel reassured that I will be okay, that Oxford can be for people like me.”

For many students, today brings certainty after months of applications, offers and waiting. University places have been confirmed, plans can now be made, and attention turns to what comes next.

Their results also reflect the high academic standards of the College and the support students receive throughout their time at Joseph Chamberlain College. The College remains Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ in every category following its second consecutive Outstanding inspection.

Among those celebrating today is Elizabath, who achieved A* in Psychology and As in Biology and Chemistry and will be travelling to Bulgaria to study Medicine at the Medical University of Varna.

Reflecting on her time at the College, Elizabath said:

JCC is a second home to me. Who I am now is because of JCC.”

Also celebrating is Chrys, who achieved A* in Art & Design, A* in Graphic Design, B in Psychology and B in the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). Chrys has secured a place at the University of Edinburgh to study Fine Art.

Chrys said:

The teachers at JCC, they are just lovely!”

For Inaaya, Results Day marks an important milestone at the end of her first year at JCC. She achieved A grades in Psychology and Criminology, alongside B grades in Biology and Chemistry, and will return to College for her second year in September.

Inaaya said:

This has been one of the most enjoyable academic years I’ve had. I’ve received immense support during my time here and I’ve valued that entirely. My grades haven’t always been the best, but I’ve always strived to be the best version of myself and reach my potential.”

Principal of Joseph Chamberlain College, Tony Day OBE, said:

Results Day is always a very special occasion for the College, and I am immensely proud of our students.

Our purpose is to give every student who comes to Joseph Chamberlain College the opportunity to succeed and to leave us with greater choices for their future. Today’s results are a wonderful reflection of that. We are seeing students progress to some of the country’s leading universities and highly competitive courses, as well as to apprenticeships, employment and further training.

They have worked extremely hard over the past two years, and it is very rewarding to see that work recognised in the opportunities now open to them.

I also want to recognise our staff. We have always understood that it is our staff who make the difference to students’ lives, and these results would not be possible without the expertise, care and high expectations they bring to the College every day.

Above all, today is about our students. It has been a privilege to have them with us, and I hope they leave Joseph Chamberlain College with confidence in themselves and a real sense of excitement about what comes next.”

The College was filled with celebration throughout the morning and into the afternoon as students returned to collect their results, share the moment with friends and family, and speak with the staff who have supported them during their time at Joseph Chamberlain College.

For many students, Results Day marks a new beginning rather than an ending. As they move on to university, apprenticeships and employment, they remain part of the Joseph Chamberlain College community. Many former students return in the years that follow to share their experiences, offer advice and encourage those following in their footsteps.

The College congratulates the Class of 2026 and wishes every student well for what comes next.
